The Sobraon
The refit of a large vessel such as the Sobraon as a ‘nautical school ship’ was a substantial undertaking, and this has been carefully documented in a set of meticulously-drawn plans that have survived in the State archives collection.
It is worth noting that the educational element of the nautical school ship system was seen as sufficiently important to ensure that a library was provided.
